What is the difference between a regular dentist and a periodontist?
While family dentists can diagnose and treat a wide range of oral health issues; periodontists specialize in dental implants and the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gum disease.
As an American board-certified expert in the field of periodontics, Dr. Weichholz is qualified to treat all types of gum disease and offers a range of treatment options that most dentists aren't certified to provide. Because of his advanced training, he can offer solutions to problems that in the past were considered untreatable.
At the Weichholz American-style Dental Office, located in the Naimi Center, Beit Shemesh, Dr. Dani Weichholz provides his patients with treatment of gum disease and high-quality dental implants from the preliminary diagnosis until the treatment is completed. He uses cutting edge technology to create a superior patient experience.
When Should I Visit a Periodontist?
Gum disease can present in one or more of the following symptoms: bad breath that won't go away, red or swollen gums, tender or bleeding gums, painful chewing, loose teeth, sensitive teeth, receding gums or teeth appearing longer than normal. If you are suffering from one or more of these symptoms, you will need more that just a regular dentist to provide proper treatment of the disease and to prevent its relapse. Gum disease affects 40% of pregnant women.Dr. Dani Weichholz stands out as a specialist in periodontic dental care who doesn't treat only the symptoms but treats the root causes first. In addition to gum disease, a periodontist is also trained and certified in inserting implants. The process is very delicate as it requires surgically positioning metal posts or frames into the jawbone beneath the gums. Dr. Weichholz often corrects the implants for patients who have suffered much pain and even damage from implants that were not done correctly.Call now to book an appointment or consultation at the Weichholz Dental Center, to ensure that your mouth gets proper professional care.
