El Al is offering a new service, allowing customers to cancel flights up to 48 hours before takeoff, with no extra fees.

There is much uncertainty these days, with growing tension between Israel and Iran, which has caused the cancellation of flights by several international airlines to Israel. El Al has announced steps aimed at easing the experience for its customers, including a new cancellation service at no cost.

The service, called 'Flight with Peace of Mind' will be available to new flight purchasers starting today, Monday and for the next two weeks. This benefit will allow for cancellations for any reason up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time, with a full credit voucher issued. The service will be provided at no additional charge for flights departing and arriving at any of El Al's destinations until March 17th 2026, except for LITE tickets and bonus tickets.

Yesterday, Sunday, El Al announced that they had added more staff at their service centers, which operate around the clock. This is intended to provide a fast response to customers who wish to change their flights or cancel existing reservations, at a time when uncertainty is affecting travel planning. However, the company warns that despite the extra staff there may be high demand, and longer waiting times than usual.

Other airline companies are also expected to offer similar flexible options in the coming days, to cope with the tense situation and provide optimal service to their customers.
