Need to leave Israel during this period?
Below is an explanation of how you can do so in a safe and orderly manner, in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation's guidelines:
🔹Two main ways to leave the country:
1. 🛫 Via the airport
Departure on scheduled flights only - the number of seats is limited, and priority is given to humanitarian and exceptional cases.
Cases that entitle one to apply to leave:
✔️ For security or political reasons
✔️ An urgent medical case requiring treatment abroad
✔️ A first-degree relative of a seriously ill patient abroad
✔️ A minor under the age of 16 without an accompanying parent
✔️ Traveling for the funeral of a first-degree relative
📋 How do you submit an application? Fill out the Exceptions Request to Depart Israel form, attach relevant documents, and submit online. https://www.gov.il/en/service/safe-passage.
After submission, an automatic confirmation of receipt will be sent.
✈️ Arriving at the airport? Please note:
* You must arrive approximately two hours before your flight (not three)
* Check your luggage for the flight
* It is recommended to check-in in advance
2. 🚗 Through land border crossings
You can leave Israel via land crossing without the need for prior approval and without special criteria.
⚠️ Before leaving the country: It is important to stay updated on the National Security Council (NSC) website regarding travel warnings for destination and transit countries. https://www.gov.il/en/departments
👥 Foreign citizens and tourists: A departure application for foreigners spending time in Israel must be filled out and submitted online.
🆕 Instructions for new olim: If you recently made aliyah and still do not have an Israeli passport or transit permit, and you are leaving the country, it is recommended that you fill out an ETA form before returning to Israel. Even if you are not required by law to fill out an ETA form, it is recommended that you do so as to avoid problems with airlines when returning to Israel.
⚠️ Important update: On Thursday, March 26th, between 5pm and 6pm, the Ministry of Transportation systems will be unavailable due to the clock change to daylight savings time. It will not be possible to perform online operations during this time.
