A report released last week by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) ranked its member countries by cost of living in 2022, and Israel was at the top of the list. The list is based on prices of goods in each country, and weighted by the purchasing power of the country’s residents.
On the monthly ranking of price levels, which is not weighted, Israel is in fourth place, after Switzerland, Iceland, and Ireland.
A report from the Knesset Research and Information Center from the same period highlighted the high cost of dairy products, housing, healthcare, and transportation in Israel.
