According to the official guidelines and restrictions for Lag B'Omer 2023, Lag b'Omer falls on Monday night, 8th May 2023 - י"ז אייר תשפ"ג.
The Beit Shemesh Municipality has published a list of the approved locations, see the list below. City inspectors will carry out increased enforcement during the holiday.
Please note:
* Bonfires should not be lit in other areas, such as parks and public gardens.
* Fires should not be lit on grass, synthetic grass or rubber surfaces.
* Bonfires should be made in an area free of thorns and weeds and at a safe distance from buildings and structures.
* The fire should be fenced around with stones to prevent children from getting close to the fire.
* Any combustible material and flammable liquid should be kept away from the campfire.
* It is recommended to wear closed shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to protect the body from stings and embers as well as insect and snake bites.
* Bonfires must be lit by an adult, while observing the required safety rules.
* A bucket with water must be kept near the bonfire in case the fire spreads.
* At the end of the event, and before leaving the bonfire area, ensure that the bonfire is completely extinguished by pouring water, sand or any other material.
