One of the people murdered in the terror attack in Eli yesterday afternoon was a former resident of RBS A. Ofer Fairman z'l, 63 years old, used to live on Nahal Micha and moved with his family to the Eli yishuv several years ago.

He was a neighbor and close friend of city council member Rabbi Yossi Goldhirsh, who said about him "This was a really special man - he used to clean the area and pick up litter in the street, and in the parks. Ofer would always organize the refreshments at the street's Vaad meetings and was a kind of chairman of the street Vaad.

Ofer raised an exemplary family and was a man of kindness to the core, always giving with a smile and lots of love, regardless of your religious afiliation. I sat with him for many hours in his home, and discovered a special man with a huge heart. When he left the neighborhood the whole street felt like one of their family members had left. My heart aches for his passing.... It is a big loss for us all."

The funeral is at 12 noon today in the yishuv Eli cemetery. The Shiva details have not been released yet.

The other victims who were killed in attack were Harel Masoud, a 21-year-old resident of Yad Binyamin; Elisha Antman, an18-year-old resident of Eli; and Nachman Shmuel Mordoff, a 15-year-old resident of Ahiya.

Also, five people were injured in the attack, one of whom is Matanya Olami, the son of one of the founders of the Otniel Yeshiva. Matanya's father, Rabbi Ami Olami, served as rabbi of Otniel until he was murdered in a terror attack nearly 30 years ago.
