Moshe Shitrit, Deputy Mayor of Beit Shemesh shared the following message on Facebook, giving more information about the Hadassah Medical Center Beit Shemesh branch. Instead of us needing to spend time travelling to Hadassah hospital for appointments, paying for parking etc, the specialists are coming to us!

"After more than 5 years since the start of the project things are starting to move - finally the city of Beit Shemesh is taking a significant first step towards the opening of a hospital in the city. The branch of Hadassah is to be called 'Hadassah Beit Shemesh'.

Many people contacted me with questions about what is going to be there, so here are the details:

The extension will include three 'centers' and two small operating rooms.

A children's center that includes day hospitalization and allergy, feeding, eye and psychiatry clinics.

An adult center that includes internal day hospitalization and pain clinics, ophthalmology (including Oct examination and injections), cardiology, gastro and allergy.
and a women's center that includes urodynamics, hysteroscopies, urogynecology and a clinic for girls.

The branch will open in the coming weeks and in three months two small operating rooms will start to function.

Many people have worked on this project, but there is one person who has invested the most in the success of this project. On behalf of all the residents of Beit Shemesh, I would like to thank Prof. Yoram Weiss, Director of the Hadassah Medical Center, who has represented the management and the hospital and invested a lot of efforts so that the residents of this city can enjoy such advanced medical services close to home. I saw during my meetings with Prof. Weiss how hard he has worked on this project and for that he deserves our full appreciation.
