The government has launched a new website that is a huge database of over 5,000 professional courses, and information to help people to find useful, relevant training.
In the last few days, thousands of recipients of unemployment benefits and income support have received text messages from the National Insurance Institute with a link directing them to a new website, in order to find vocational training, according to the individual skills and needs of each and every person.
This is the website: https://skillil.co.il/
The website is intended for anyone who wants to choose a professional training course, to help prepare them for new employment opportunities or to improve their current work situation. The site is a huge database of over 5,000 vocational training courses from hundreds of institutions that are recognized by the Ministry of Labor and the Innovation Authority, alongside external studies from colleges and institutions of higher education, etc.
As well as the information about courses, the site has information about options for assistance in financing studies, and also placement at the end of the training.
The intention is to help people who are not currently working to earn a decent living without the assistance of benefits. The Ministry of Labor is promoting the site, and after a pilot period, the Employment Service will use the site to help job-seekers to find work.
Minister of Labor and National Insurance Commissioner Yoav Ben-Zur said "Vocational training is a top priority and we will invest all the necessary resources in this. The purpose of the new site is to provide a personalized solution for every person who is looking for training or professional retraining. The Ministry of Labor's professional training is at the forefront of integrating all populations into quality employment in the economy."
Director General of the Ministry of Labor, Israel Uzan said "The Ministry of Labor is constantly examining the changes in the changing world of work. The AI technology that has now entered is also affecting the labor market, and we are currently examining in depth the implications for workers in the economy.... Our job is to offer a wide range of training and employment options adapted to the changing labor market and to ensure that employees have the appropriate skills."
